About

The Byron Life is where I play with photography and words... documenting a creative life from a little piece of paradise called Byron Bay.

When I'm not writing in this space I'm either wrangling the tear-away toddler, chasing the busy pre-schooler or ferrying my worldly teenager to Somewhere Important.

I dream of one day living the self-sufficient life - a solar-powered existence with chooks, fruit trees, vegie gardens and compost loo.

Until that day, bear with me as I learn how to grow potted herbs.*

I also work as a regional news journalist. Best job in the world (second to being a mum).

Thanks for visiting.

* As I write this it's July 2011 and our family are half-way through a stint house-sitting a lovely old Queenslander home in the hills with fruit trees and 12 chooks. It's like a practice run for my "dream" urban farm and I'm loving every minute of it.
