"A portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2013."

Melody:: Wearing a crown she made at school. She resembles her big sister so much in this photo. I don't often see that in Melli, but in this light, at this angle, it's there.

Maddison :: Can you see what she's done to her fringe? Hacked into it with scissors! At three years-of-age! She doesn't want curls anymore, she says. She wants her hair cut short so she doesn't have to go through the brushing the knots out of the curly hair thing every day. We can cut it short, but I can't un-do curly hair... Sorry, kiddo. You're a curly-whirly girl, and we are just going to have to deal with it.

Off to hide all scissors...

  3. Hi there, Just thought I'd say I really enjoy your posts! Especially love your pictures of Bellingen, we like to visit there on our trips north :) I have two little girls too, both with long hair and we use a Tangle Teaser hairbrush, which brushes out the knots without any pain (although I do think it looks very cute when littlies give themselves a haircut!). Looking forward to reading more of your lovely blog. Margaret

  4. Ha ha ! When I was Maddison's age I cut a huge chunk from my dead straight dark brown fringe right back at the skin. I can still remember hiding behind the lounge afraid of the trouble I would be in . . . then my mother's horrified face (not to mention the endless 'tut tuts' and scissor safety lectures from friends and relatives! Don't worry - makes for funny photos - great for her 18th or 18th Birthday! Love your blog : )
