Things They Didn't Tell You

“… what you quickly learn as a parent is that children are not “problems” to be solved. There is no “solution” to their unique and peculiar ways. They are instead a work in progress and evolving every day, just as you are.”

– Wendy Harmer, Things They Didn’t Tell You.

When I was invited to contribute to Things They Didn’t Tell You, an anthology of writing on parenting from 32 Australian bloggers, I didn’t hesitate in saying yes.

The request came from Allison Tait, one of the most generous bloggers I have come across and a talented writer and editor, who told me ALL funds from the book would go to a project that really resonates with me: Foundation 18.

Foundation 18 provides a home, education, medical needs and meals for orphaned and underprivileged children in Indonesia and was established in June 2010 by Australian humanitarian and conservationist Cate Bolt (another extremely talented writer and blogger).

How could I possibly say no to being a part of a project like this?

The end result of months of work by Allison and her e-book team, including Northern Rivers locals, Tracy Rudd and Mal McClenaghan from Ebooks Need Editors (ENE), is nothing short of brilliant.

The book’s foreword is written by another of my favourite gals, The Hoopla’s editor-in-chief, Wendy Harmer, and I am honoured to be listed as a contributor alongside a group of extremely talented Australian bloggers.

Each writer has their own unique perspective on parenting and they write from their heart on both the challenges and pure joy our children bring to our lives.

The e-book costs just $4.99. You can buy it here. (I have also added a button on the side of my blog – feel free to share it on your blog/facebook page etc)

I rarely ask you (if ever?!) to buy something here on the blog – but I am asking today.

You will be rewarded with an inspiring read and you will be supporting such a worthwhile charity.

Thank you.

x
Megan
