Sunday Snippets

We spent the day in Bangalow for the annual billycart derby, and it was , as always, brilliant.
However, the irony of this blog post is 1.I have scant photos of billycarts and 2. a decision I made to not lug my big camera around today and just "be mum" instead of "Megan the photojournalist" resulted in a zillion-and-one iPhone snaps anyway - just as many as I would usually take on my regular camera! (Can't help myself, it seems...)

The billycarting (as truly wonderful as it is - and, boy, does Bangalow know how it's done) was like a side-alley show for my little ones who preferred to spend the day in the festival-atmosphere of the historic Bangalow Primary School, which this year had a Mad Hatter's Tea Party theme. I can't blame them - when you're two and five and there's facepainting, rides, craft and cakes on offer, where else would you choose to be?

Thanks Bangalow!

Megan

  2. Oh how I love Bangalow! My grandparents lived in Ballina and as a kid, coming over to see them (I'm in Perth) was always so special....and invariably included day trips to Bangalow. It was one of my Grandpa's favourite places. I actually won a trip for my Mum a couple of years back to Gaia your way and we made a special trip to Bangalow in honour of Gramps! You live in a gorgeous part of the world. Oh, and I love your blog! Kelly :)

Magical Tea party! The focus on the girls in red is awesome, very cool effect. I do understand the photographer/mama thing. :)
