Remember the little
peggie folk I made for Melli just after the baby arrived? Well, I discovered we still had a heap of materials left over for another spot of peggie-craft, and, given the season, we have been making these fun peggie-angels.
Here's how we made them:
 |
| Gather some fabric scraps |
 |
| Each angel needs a wooden peg, fabric piece and a pipe-cleaner |
 |
| Sew two rows of stitching using a long stitch length |
 |
| Pull one thread from each row to gather up your fabric |
 |
| Tie the threads together to secure the fabric to the peg. |
 |
| Twist a pipe-cleaner aroundthe fabric leaving two even ends at the back. |
 |
| Shape each end into a wing and twist them together to secure. |
 |
Draw on a face and voila - a peggie-angel!
You could add hair too if you wanted using wool scraps or a cotton ball. |
We will hang these on our tree - just as soon as they return from their travels around the living room... Melli says they are on their way to Africa, which is "a long long long way, but that's okay because they can fly."

So sweet. The fabrics are lovely. They'll look gorgeous on the Christmas tree, after they are finished with their travels!
ReplyDeleteThey are really lovely, what a great idea! On a sunny day, you could still use them to peg clothes on the washing line too =)
ReplyDeleteIt's times like these that I really need a niece! I'm not sure whether I could convince my nephews to make peggy angels with me.... maybe I'll just make some for me during the holidays instead?
ReplyDeleteThey look so beautiful...
ReplyDeleteYou are amazing and lots of love...xxxxxxxx

ReplyDeleteI am so glad they can fly! Such an important skill for such gorgeous angels. Love them. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteJust seen this fabulous tutorail. These are gorgeous and I will be trying one (or two), just need to purchase the peg doll from our local steiner shop. Thanks for the tutorial and I love all the colours of the fabric. Best wishes:)
