Our storybook party bags were a big hit at Melody’s birthday and they are so easy to make I thought I would share the idea with you.
You will need:
1. Brown paper lunch bags – the type available at any supermarket.
2. Recycled pages from old storybooks. We thrifted ours.
3. A sticker for each bag.
4. A glue stick.

How to:
1.Trim your storybook page to size and, using a glue stick, paste onto the front of the paper bag.
2. Add your party-bag loot (eg: we added a few sweets, some crafting materials and a small toy)
3. Fold down the top of the bag.
4. Use a sticker to keep the top closed.

The bags will be popular with many age groups, boys and girls, and they are so simple to make that even my three-year-old was able to join in the crafting of them!
Of course you could extend this idea and use fancier bags, or boxes, and embellish the bags with paint, drawings or glitter.
And, why wait for a party? They make fun little storage bags for toys and pencils.
If you do make some I’d love to see the pix!

p.s I am happy for you to share this party-bag idea, but please link back to this blog if you do– thanks!

Wow Megan I love this idea. Thank you so much! I have a birthday party and a wedding in March to organize and I'd love to have a bash of this! I would find it hard to rip up old books but I'll give it a whirl. Hope all is well with your lovely family. xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! I think i'll try this for my daughters third birthday in a few months. My mum saved some of my old childrens books - but some of them got damaged in storage. I've been saving them for some crafting...this idea is perfrect.
ReplyDeleteAdding this to my list of ideas for my son's fourth birthday at the end of this year - his first "real" party. Eep!
